Investigators say Tyler Robinson's roommate showed them Discord messages on a phone screen, and the Utah State Bureau of Investigation later sought Discord's records for usernames including "Craftopia." Discord itself publicly pushed back on the idea that any plot was organized on its platform.

Researchers add a timing problem — the confession message appeared at 7:57 p.m. on September 11, while court documents cited by attorney Baron Coleman indicate Robinson had been read his Miranda rights at a sheriff's office at 6:25 p.m., without phone access under standard custody protocol. If both times are right, critics argue, someone else posted the message.
