Interview Transcript: Rights Read, Counsel Requested
What This Image Shows
This transcript page is the companion to the court filing elsewhere in this cluster. Each paragraph is preceded by a pair of timestamps — a clock time and a running video time — and the first, 06:25 PM, is highlighted. Below it the Miranda warning is read out in full and acknowledged, and further down the person identified as Tyler says he would like to speak with his legal counsel, names an attorney, Doug Terry, says he believes his parents are trying to reach him, and adds that he thinks the office is closed for the night, before saying he would like to remain silent until he has spoken with one.
Those two ordinary sentences are the whole argument. Attorney Baron Coleman reads the reference to an office closed for the night, rather than for the weekend, and the reference to parents actively trying to reach a lawyer, as placing this exchange on the evening of Thursday, September 11, 2025 — not the following day as the official account has it. If he is right, the person in this room had invoked counsel about ninety minutes before the Discord message attributed to his account appeared, and investigation notes add that county protocol is to take a suspect's phone once he is in custody.
This is one reading of an undated transcript, and an investigative-hold explanation has been offered against it; no court has ruled. Read the surrounding material at Mirandize, 6:25 PM Custody and the Discord Confession and Discord Custody Timeline, and see the Discord screenshot itself elsewhere in this cluster.
