The timing of this photograph is itself contested. The public account describes a voluntary surrender at the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Hurricane, Utah on the evening of September 11, 2025, with transport north and booking into the Utah County Jail on September 12. Attorney Baron Coleman has argued from the inmate booking sheet and probable cause statement that the arrest date is recorded as September 11 at 10 p.m. by an officer from northern Utah, which he says is impossible to square with a manhunt that officials described as ending the following day. That is his reading of the documents; an investigative-hold explanation has been offered in response, and no court has resolved it.
