Handle attribution is the weak joint in the digital case and this is why researchers keep pulling at it. Investigation records show the Utah State Bureau of Investigation sought Discord records for usernames including Craftopia, Gamin and The Corruption, and separate affidavits sought Apple account records and internet service subscriber records. Each of those requests is an attempt to bind an account to a person, and none of the resulting records has been made public.
