Those ellipses are worth pausing on. The full transcript filed at Lance contains the sequence about being stuck in Orem, needing to grab the rifle, a squad car parked near the drop point, changing outfits and leaving the weapon in a bush, and worrying about fingerprints. An excerpt that keeps the rifle and the engraving while dropping the surrounding material is a curated version, whoever curated it and for whatever reason.
The engraved-cartridge detail was among the earliest specifics released to media and did a great deal of work in setting the public narrative; the underlying documentation for it has not been produced publicly.
