The morning frames from the Utah Valley University parking lot on September 10, 2025 show a black hat with a white logo, per the affidavit's own description of the 8:29 a.m. arrival, while the stairwell sequence shows a lighter cap. Investigation notes on the stairwell figure record the hat as a blue mesh baseball cap and argue that a 22-year-old would not swap hats and backpacks mid-morning.
