Flag on the Building Above the Empty Terraces
What This Image Shows
A wide view of the large American flag draped over the side of the brutalist concrete building, overlooking the multi-tiered terraced grass amphitheater with its concrete steps and retaining walls. A small group of people stands in the distance at the right, behind a metal crowd-control barricade.
The barricades are still up and the terraces are empty. This is the site during the memorial period, after the crowd had gone and before the ground was restored.
It is the cleanest available before-the-paving view of the amphitheater with the event infrastructure still in place, which makes it a useful comparison point against both the crowd frames and the paving frames. See Barricades and Skybridge in the Empty Courtyard and After.
