Texts on Rooftop Access Before the Event

What This Image Shows

A screenshot of a post from an account shown as Shawn Ryan, handle @ShawnRyan762, with an attached capture of a mobile text conversation marked Text Message RCS.

The post reads: "This was a message exchanged between Charlie Kirk's head of security and the UVU chief of police regarding the rooftop." The exchange, timestamped Monday 4:11 PM, reads: "Hello Chief Long - We received this message today from the student group. FYSA: 'there is student roof access pretty close to where CK will be set up at Utah Valley (The Sorensen Student center has a couple stair cases that go up to the walkways on the roof)'." The reply reads: "You want access to the roof?" The security side answers: "I was told students have access above us, if this is true, it would be nice to either have it controlled access or allow one of my guys to be there as well. If possible." The chief replies: "I got you covered." The exchange closes at Monday 8:29 PM with "Thank you, Sir."

This is one of the most consequential documents in the whole intake queue. If authentic, it shows the protective detail identifying open roof access near the stage before the event, asking for it to be controlled or staffed, and being told it was covered. That request, and what actually happened on the roofs on September 10, 2025, sit directly on the central question of the venue's security. The exchange is presented by a third party and is not independently authenticated here. See Security, Before the Shooting and UVU.
