Facebook Thread on the Early Detentions
What This Image Shows
A long vertical screenshot of a Facebook post dated September 10 at 6:55PM and its comment thread. The author's self-replies include cropped photographs of law enforcement officers handling a long gun.
The post reads: "The FALL GUY they call it. IFYKYK prayers sent to the family no matter who they say did it. Check image in comments ... this isn't the right one." The comments run in real time: "It was some old dude apparently but there's videos of a guy on a roof on campus and there's no way that old dude climbed up there," "They released this man already and have already confirmed captured the actual shooter," and "Both people of interest who were detained have been released. They do not have anyone in custody at this time. The assassin is still at large."
The thread is a contemporaneous record of how confused the public information was within hours: two detentions, two releases, contradictory claims of a capture, all inside one comment thread.
