The attached summary is far more careful: "The query references the ADL's partnerships with tech firms like Cyabra and CHEQ - analyzed in prior reports - as potential privacy risks, viewed through the lens of ADL's documented history of surveillance and infiltration activities. This analysis confirms that ADL's past operations, spanning decades, involved extensive spying on activists, civil rights groups, and critics of Israel, often in collaboration with law enforcement and informants. These actions, exposed in scandals like the 1993 FBI investigation, raise legitimate concerns about data handling in modern partnerships."
The gap between the caption and the summary is the whole story of this genre. The summary refers to a documented historical episode and frames present-day partnerships as raising concerns; the caption converts that into a claim about a hostile government wanting to kill the reader.
