Joint Base Andrews (KADW)

Joint Base Andrews (ICAO KADW, historically shown on trackers as Camp Springs / ADW), in Maryland, is the home of the U.S. Air Force 89th Airlift Wing — the unit that flies Special Air Mission (SAM) and executive VIP transport, including Air Force One and Air Force Two. Two government aircraft tracked in this investigation share Andrews as their home and starting point: the C-37A SAM 99-0404 that flew westbound days before the September 10, 2025 assassination, and the C-32A 99-0004 / Air Force Two tied to the casket transport the day after. This page catalogs Andrews as the single base that links those flights; nothing here alleges wrongdoing by any person.

About the base

Andrews sits just outside Washington, D.C., and is the operational hub for moving senior executive-branch and Congressional officials by air. The 89th Airlift Wing based there operates the Special Air Mission fleet — the C-37A Gulfstream V and C-32A (military Boeing 757-200) jets used for VIP and executive transport. SAM aircraft broadcast under rotating "SAM" callsigns and, when the President or Vice President is aboard, carry the Air Force One or Air Force Two designation. Because these are military registrations, their tracks are often sparse, delayed, or absent on civilian flight-tracking sites.

For the purposes of this investigation, Andrews matters as a start / home base: it is the common origin that ties together the U.S. government VIP aircraft flagged by citizen investigators in the case material.

Which planes used it

SAM 99-0404 — C-37A (pre-event positioning)

A USAF C-37A Gulfstream V VIP transport, tail 99-0404, home-based at Joint Base Andrews. According to a tipster email forwarded to Candace Owens (dated December 10, 2025, titled "Flights - Fort Huachuca Sept 9. 2025"), the aircraft was tracked on a westbound chain in the days before the assassination:

  • September 7, 2025: Andrews → Colorado Springs.
  • September 8, 2025: Colorado Springs → Tucson, then ~5 hours later Tucson → (transponder reportedly turned off).
  • September 9, 2025, 12:31 PM: Reappears flying Fort Huachuca → El Paso, then El Paso → back to Andrews. The same source notes the aircraft leaving the Fort Huachuca area around 11:43 AM.

The tipster reports this as the only time they had observed this aircraft at Fort Huachuca, the U.S. Army Intelligence Center. The investigation notes record that the trip (Andrews → Colorado Springs → Tucson) was reportedly booked by the office of Bradley Hansell before the callsign changed from RCH to SAM. These are reported attributions, not established facts. The full account is on the SAM 99-0404 Flight page.

99-0004 / Air Force Two — C-32A (post-event casket transport)

A USAF C-32A (military Boeing 757-200) in the Air Force Two role, associated with Vice President JD Vance and carrying tail 99-0004 as its catalogued reference airframe. This aircraft is tied to the openly reported post-assassination casket logistics that departed from Joint Base Andrews:

  • September 11, 2025 (day after the assassination): an Air Force Two C-32A flew to the Salt Lake City area (the Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base) to receive Charlie Kirk's casket, then continued onward to Phoenix Sky Harbor for the memorial.
  • Vice President Vance was widely reported to have accompanied the flight and to have helped carry the casket on the tarmac, alongside Erika Kirk and family.

This was a respectful, openly reported official transport, and it alleges no wrongdoing by any person. The detail pages are Air Force Two Casket Flight and the separately catalogued 99-0004 Vance Flight (which also records a distinct May 27, 2025 Las Vegas movement of that tail).

What trips they were on

The two Andrews-based aircraft bracket the event in time. The C-37A SAM 99-0404 flew before September 10 — a westbound positioning chain that touched Colorado Springs, Tucson, and (after a reported transponder-off gap) Fort Huachuca, before returning to Andrews. The C-32A Air Force Two flight came after — the September 11 casket transport from the Salt Lake City area to Phoenix. One trip is scrutinized as pre-event military movement still seeking answers; the other is an undisputed, dignified post-event transport of Kirk's remains.

Note: 99-0404 (C-37A) is NOT 99-0004 (C-32A)

These two tail numbers differ by a single digit and are easy to confuse:

  • 99-0404 — a C-37A Gulfstream V (the smaller Gulfstream business jet), the pre-event flight covered on SAM 99-0404.
  • 99-0004 — a C-32A (the military Boeing 757-200), the Air Force Two airframe covered on 99-0004 Vance Flight.

Both are Special Air Mission aircraft based at the 89th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Andrews, but they are different airframes of different types. Do not conflate them.

Why it matters to the investigation

Andrews is the single home base that connects the U.S. government VIP aircraft flagged in this case. The pre-event C-37A flight (scrutinized for its reported Fort Huachuca stop, transponder-off leg, and reported booking by a defense-intelligence office) and the post-event C-32A casket transport both trace back to the same 89th Airlift Wing operation. Whether the pre-event flight has any bearing on September 10 is an open question raised by citizen investigators, not an established fact — and the casket flight is plainly an official, respectful act. Cataloging Andrews keeps the full set of government aviation tied to the case in one place, so readers can see where these aircraft started and decide what records would resolve the open questions.

Open questions

  1. What were the full manifests of the Andrews-based SAM/VIP flights bracketing September 10, and who authorized each tasking?
  2. For SAM 99-0404, why did the callsign change from RCH to SAM mid-trip, and why was the transponder reportedly off between Tucson and Fort Huachuca?
  3. What is the exact tail number and callsign of the September 11 casket flight that departed the Andrews-based 89th Airlift Wing operation?
  4. Are there any other 89th Airlift Wing movements in the September 7-12, 2025 window that have not yet been catalogued?
