Video: No Security Plan for the Charis Bible College Stop

This page hosts one video. In it, Candace Owens says she was tipped off by someone directly involved in planning the event Charlie Kirk was due to speak at the day after he was killed — and that the tip was that nobody had a security plan for it.

The event was real. Kirk was booked for Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Charis Bible College in Woodland Park, Colorado, as a headline speaker at Andrew Wommack Ministries' Truth & Liberty conference. After the shooting, the slot was turned into a tribute, "A Nation at a Turning Point: Remembering Charlie Kirk," and a panel replaced his Q&A (Colorado Springs Gazette; KOAA).

Well, interestingly enough, I received a tip from someone that was directly involved with the planning of an event that Charlie Kirk was supposed to attend the following day. On September 11th, the day after his assassination, Charlie was slated to speak in Woodland Park, Colorado at the Charis Bible College. Okay, so that's in Woodland Park, Colorado. He was slated to speak there. And according to this person, after Charlie got assassinated, there was a bit of a panicked meeting that took place, which was headed by the chief of police, they decided to transform this event into a vigil, and they were panicked because, believe it or not, they had absolutely no security plan in place. They thought how odd. We don't have a security plan in place. Now we better consider this. Um, and we need to make sure that we have police officer involvements.

Why didn't Dan Flood and Brian Harpole and Turning Point USA's security have any coordination with the police departments up in Colorado? This is what they normally do, and, you know, whatever the way he overdescribes that, and they get the plan, and everybody can access and start to begin to speak, and then we speak to the police. We do all this stuff. We just didn't think to do that for the event that he had the next day. No police officer involvement scheduled nothing. Suddenly they're panicked because they realize they don't have anything scheduled. Yeah.

What the Claim Is — and Is Not​

The claim, in Owens's words: after the assassination, a meeting led by the local chief of police turned the Woodland Park event into a vigil, and the organizers discovered there was no security plan and no police involvement scheduled for Kirk's appearance.

Who it points at: Owens asks why Dan Flood, described in posts as Kirk's head of security, and Brian Harpole, founder of Integrity Security Solutions, the firm contracted for the UVU stop, had not coordinated with Colorado police. She contrasts that with the usual practice she describes — advance coordination with local departments before every stop.

Why it matters to this investigation: if true, a missing next-day plan fits the wider pattern critics describe at UVU itself — no counter-snipers, uninspected rooftops and loose screening. It would suggest the protective operation was thin across consecutive stops, not only in Orem.

What it does not show: the source is anonymous, relayed second-hand on a podcast. No TPUSA schedule, vendor contract, police record or sworn statement has been published to confirm it. A plan may also have been the host's or the venue's to make rather than the traveling detail's. None of this is evidence of intent by anyone named, and no one named has been charged with anything. Flood and Harpole are living people; this site records only what was said about their roles.

Counterpoint: It is common for a traveling detail to finalize local police coordination close to the date. A plan that had not been filed with local police by the evening of September 10 may simply not have been due yet. This site has found no public response from TPUSA, Integrity Security Solutions, or Charis Bible College to this specific claim.

Responses and Denials​

  • Brian Harpole has sued Owens for defamation, false light and conspiracy in federal court in the Middle District of Tennessee. The suit covers claims tying him to the assassination and statements portraying his team as negligent in security planning. He denies those claims and says records and travel logs contradict them.   • TPUSA has called Owens's broader conspiracy claims "utterly vile" and unfounded, and criticized her for naming staff.

An earlier write-up on this site, The Next Event Had No Security Plan, recorded the same claim from anonymous posts with the venue spelled "Therese Bible College." The Owens account and local news coverage name the venue as Charis Bible College in Woodland Park; whether the two accounts are the same claim garbled in transmission is unresolved.
