The Security Chief's Reported Netanyahu-Detail Background (Claims)

:::caution Attributed claims only Working an executive-protection contract for a visiting head of state is lawful, ordinary, and a professional credential. Dan Flood is a living private citizen who has been charged with nothing, accused of nothing by any authority, and found responsible for nothing. So is every other person named here. This page exists because the claim circulates widely — and because, examined closely, the posts making it do not even agree on who the man in the photograph is. Nothing here asserts that anyone on the detail knew of or participated in any crime. :::

What is alleged

The claim, as circulated, is that Dan Flood — Charlie Kirk's head of security — was previously a member of Benjamin Netanyahu's security team, and that a man photographed on Kirk's detail on September 10, 2025 is the same individual seen shielding Netanyahu in 2017 airport photographs. It is layered against three other assertions from the notes: Candace Owens' claim that Kirk texted Flood the night before that "they" were going to kill him tomorrow; an observation that Flood reportedly stepped slightly to the right a split second before the shot; and a report that the detail had no security plan for the September 11 event despite a normal twelve-day preparation cycle.

The posts contradict each other on the most basic point. The investigation file's actual photo-comparison post does not name Dan Flood at all. It names Brian Harpole, a former police officer on the detail, and asserts that "side-by-side photos leave no room for doubt: It's the same man." Other retellings attach the identical Netanyahu-detail claim to Flood. A photo identification whose proponents cannot agree which of two different men they have identified is not evidence of anything. It is a resemblance in search of a subject.

The same post supplies its own weakest link. It reports that reverse image searches on the 2017 photographs "lead to scrubbed Zimbio archives. Three engines, zero results. Sites 404'd" — and treats the dead links as proof of a cover-up. There is a simpler reading below.

The ordinary explanation

Executive protection is a small, credential-driven industry. Having worked a foreign head-of-state visit — typically as part of a US-based contract detail supporting a protectee on American soil, which is how such visits are routinely staffed — is a resume line that makes an operator more qualified for high-threat principal work, not suspect. It is the kind of thing you put on a capability statement.

Side-by-side photo identification by anonymous accounts is among the least reliable forms of evidence in existence, and it has repeatedly misidentified people in this case and in others. Here it has arguably done so twice, since the posts cannot settle on a name. Dead Zimbio links are ordinary link-rot from a defunct media property — an enormous volume of that archive simply stopped resolving — not evidence of scrubbing.

The remaining details dissolve on contact. A protector shifting his stance in the seconds before an unpredictable event is unremarkable body movement, meaningful only in hindsight and only if you already believe the conclusion. The absence of a plan for a next-day event has mundane explanations, including that planning had not yet been finalized. And the file itself carries the strongest counterpoint: the private close-protection world associated with TPUSA events recruits exclusively from US Tier 1 operators and federal agencies, with no foreign nationals documented — a fact the notes cite directly against online theories tying the team to Mossad. On the reported record, this claim rests on two photographs and a disagreement about who is in them.

What would settle it

  1. Establish who is actually in the 2017 photograph, by name, from the original wire-service caption — AFP or the originating agency retains it whether or not Zimbio still resolves.
  2. Ask Dan Flood and Brian Harpole each, on the record, to state their protective-detail employment history.
  3. Obtain the archived version of the 404'd pages via the Internet Archive, which would test the "scrubbing" claim in minutes.
  4. Produce the text Candace Owens says Kirk sent Flood the night before, or state clearly that it has never been shown.
