Four of Those Phones Later at the Islamabad Serena (Claims)
:::caution Attributed claims only Attending or monitoring a diplomatic negotiation is lawful and expected statecraft. Every state with a stake in a US-Iran deal watches those talks; that is what intelligence and diplomatic services are for, and it says nothing about a killing in Utah. No diplomat named in the reporting on these talks has been charged with or shown to have any connection to the Utah event. These are reported claims, not findings. :::

What is alleged
Tony Seruga reportedly posted that on or about April 10-11, 2026, four of the sixteen Israeli-registered devices he claims were at UVU on September 10, 2025 "arrived in Islamabad last evening, at the Islamabad Serena Hotel." The venue matters to the claim: the Serena was reportedly hosting high-stakes US-Iran peace and ceasefire negotiations, with Pakistan mediating. Reporting associated the US delegation with Vice President JD Vance and Jared Kushner, and the Iranian delegation with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The hotel was reportedly requisitioned by the Pakistani government, cleared of regular guests, and locked inside a roughly three-kilometre security cordon.
The argument made from this is that a device set appearing first at an assassination scene and then inside a closed diplomatic summit is beyond coincidence. The viral framing put it directly: "You don't have four high-level Israeli-linked devices at a murder scene and then at a secret diplomatic summit by 'coincidence.'" And then the leap: "Was Charlie removed because he was about to expose the very people sitting in that hotel room today?"
One detail belongs at the top of this page, not buried in it. The investigation's own notes record that the tracking graphic circulated on X carried the poster's own caveat: "(Image of tracked phones is a recreation and NOT real)." The picture presented as the proof was, by the admission of the person who posted it, an illustration. It is evidence of a graphic, not of an intercept.
Note also the seven-month gap. The Islamabad talks are dated roughly seven months after the assassination. Nothing about this claim is contemporaneous with the shooting.
The ordinary explanation
Israel has obvious, lawful, and openly acknowledged diplomatic and intelligence interest in any US-Iran negotiation touching its nuclear and regional security posture. Monitoring or attending such talks is expected statecraft, not evidence of a murder — and it is equally true of a dozen other states with interests in the outcome. Because the Serena was requisitioned and cleared of regular guests for the delegations, the security perimeter would plausibly encompass diplomatic staff, security personnel, and accredited press from Israel and elsewhere, all of whom have nothing whatever to do with Utah.
Then there is the dependency problem. This claim inherits every weakness of the one beneath it. The entire linkage rests on Seruga's assertion that the same devices were at both locations, which requires the device identifiers from the UVU dataset he has never published. No independent party has verified a single device ID at either end. If the UVU dataset does not hold, this claim has nothing to stand on at all.
Finally, the operational logic runs backwards. A real intelligence team would not carry the same trackable handsets from an assassination scene to a guarded diplomatic summit seven months later. Seruga's "Bumblehive" argument tries to answer this by asserting anonymity is impossible — but that argument is itself unproven, and it cannot rescue a dataset nobody has seen.
What would settle it
- Publish the four device identifiers and the two ping records — Utah and Islamabad — with timestamps, so any independent analyst can check whether they are the same devices.
- Name the commercial data vendor and produce the query that returned the Serena results.
- Replace the admitted recreation with the actual underlying data visualization, or state clearly that no such visualization exists.
- Ask the Pakistani hosts for the accreditation manifest of the security cordon during April 10-11, 2026 — who was lawfully inside, and in what role?
