Camera sightings below are broken down by device on Surveillance Cameras: Ring, WYZE, UVU surveillance, with the full list on Tyler on Surveillance Cameras.

  • 7:08 AM — Plane tail number SU-BTT departs Utah for Wilmington — departure shortly before the assassination.

  • 8:07 AM — Tyler Robinson spotted on Ring doorbell camera walking on S 800 W toward UVU campus wearing maroon shirt and light-colored shorts.

  • 8:23 AM — Robinson spotted on WYZE camera on W 880 S.

  • 8:29 AM — Robinson arrived on UVU campus in a gray Dodge Challenger. Observed on UVU surveillance wearing a plain maroon T-shirt, light-colored shorts, black hat with white logo, and light-colored shoes. No backpack visible at this time. Full morning breakdown: pre-shot campus movements.

  • ~10:00 AM (claim, unverified) — A July 2026 clip circulated by @FaithDrivUr states that police place the assassin's campus arrival at 9:24 AM, after which he "goes to the quad area" and "makes contact with some representatives from TPUSA." No TPUSA employee has been named and no primary law-enforcement document containing this account has been located. The 9:24 AM figure also conflicts with the 8:29 AM campus arrival above. See TPUSA and Tyler Robinson Chat and the TPUSA organizational timeline.

  • 9:57 AM — Robinson seen again on WYZE camera on W 880 S. Outfit has changed — now wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt. The changes are catalogued on Robinson's clothing changes that day.

  • 11:44 AM — Robinson seen on Ring camera on W 800 S.

  • 11:49 AM — Robinson seen on Ring camera walking on S 800 W toward campus again.

  • 11:50 AM — UVU surveillance first captured the Suspect walking across a grassy area north of Campus Drive near 800 West. Suspect wearing a dark colored hat, sunglasses, long sleeve black shirt with an American flag and eagle graphic, dark colored jeans, and white/gray Chuck Taylor style shoes. Carrying a dark backpack. Walks with a distinctive stiff right leg gait. The backpack is the pivot of the backpack-and-rifle impossibility argument.

  • 11:53 AM — Suspect paused at the top of stairs before a pedestrian tunnel under Campus Drive. Pulled out what appeared to be a cellphone from right pocket. Eventually put it back and continued toward the Losee Center. These are the frames disputed on the Stairs Guy identity gap and Stairs Guy and the backpack that doesn't fit.

  • 12:02 PM — Suspect observed walking on north side of Losee Center building with same distinctive gait. Entered Losee Center through doors on the southeast corner.

  • 12:15 PM — Suspect observed walking up stairs leading to the common area adjacent to Losee Center building.

  • 12:17 PM — Suspect climbed over a short concrete wall separating the common area from the rooftop of Losee Center. Crouched down on north side of the wall on the rooftop. Rooftop access is analysed on perimeter and rooftop failures.

  • 12:22 PM — Suspect stood up and began running across the rooftop toward the west side. Scooched along the rooftop edge. Laid down in a prone shooting position near the west edge of the rooftop facing the courtyard area below. Commentators note the limp is gone in this stretch — the 12:22 roof run and the vanishing limp.

  • 12:23 PM — Charlie Kirk was struck while speaking into a microphone in the courtyard west of Losee Center. Kirk appeared to be hit in the neck and fell to his left. Suspect stood up suddenly and sprinted north across the rooftop. Suspect reached the northeast corner, placed a dark colored item on the rooftop, lowered himself over the edge, and dropped to the grass below. Suspect ran north past the parking lot east of Losee Center. See minute by minute, the 12:23 vs 12:27 dispute and the roof-jumping timeline.

  • 12:24 PM — Suspect ran north across Campus Drive carrying an item. Footwear impression (Converse/Chuck Taylor pattern) and palm print were later recovered from the northeast corner of the rooftop where Suspect descended. The towel-wrapped item is examined on the rifle wrapped in a towel; the escape leg continues on the post-shot escape timeline.

  • 12:26 PM — Regional law enforcement received first reports of the shooting — a three-minute gap examined on Three Minutes to the First Police Report.

  • 12:31 PM — Officer reported "gunshots heard near library." Radio traffic is logged on the dispatch and scanner timeline.

  • 12:35 PM — Officer identified suspect description: wearing jeans, black shirt, black mask, long rifle — the all-black description tracked on Black-Clad Rooftop Suspect Dropped From the Narrative. Investigators also discovered a bolt action rifle wrapped in a dark colored towel in a wooded grassy area north of Campus Drive. Rifle was a Mauser Model 98, .30-06 caliber bolt action, with scope. Cartridge casings found with the rifle had inscriptions engraved on them. A competing account places recovery the next day, after failed K-9 searches — the gun discovery sequence.

  • 12:39 PM — First FBI agents arrived and secured the scene — see the FBI involvement timeline and crime scene handling.

  • 12:48 PM — UVU issued campus emergency alert regarding "a single shot fired toward a visiting speaker." See UVU institutional response.

  • 1:02 PMPresident Trump shared news of the shooting on Truth Social.

  • 1:37 PM — UVU closed campus and urged evacuation.

  • 2:01 PM — UVU instructed remaining persons to secure in place.

  • 2:40 PM — President Trump confirmed Charlie Kirk's death on Truth Social.

  • 4:00 PM — Governor Spencer Cox held a press conference calling it a "political assassination." See the Utah officials timeline.

  • 4:21 PM — FBI Director Kash Patel announced a subject was in custody. This was premature and incorrect — two unrelated individuals had been briefly detained, including George Zinn. See Kash Patel press briefings and the distraction events timeline.

  • 5:59 PMKash Patel corrected the earlier statement, tweeting the subject had been released after interrogation. The whole announcement sequence is on the Kash Patel manhunt timeline.

  • ~6:38 PM (claimed photo; not a state exhibit)Candace Owens and amplifiers circulated a Dairy Queen photo in Orem of a person they identify as Robinson, about six hours after the shooting and ~15–17 minutes' drive from UVU. Public hearing summaries say the State did not introduce this photo as an exhibit. See the Candace Owens timeline and merchant and travel CCTV.

  • 7:59 PM — FBI released video footage showing the alleged shooter jumping off the rooftop and fleeing campus. Image-quality objections are on enhanced suspect photos and UVU HD footage withheld.

  • Evening — Robinson texted his roommate/partner: "No, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing" — referring to the two incorrect detentions earlier that day. Text authentication runs through Robinson's phone and devices and Cellebrite.

  • Evening — Robinson texted his partner: "My dad wants photos of the rifle. He's calling me rn, not answering."

  • Evening — Robinson texted: "I had enough of his hatred."

  • ~8:55–9:47 PM (claimed) — A Panguitch steakhouse receipt (Cowboy's Smokehouse) and staff accounts are cited by citizen investigators as placing him dining south of UVU on the route toward Washington County. The restaurant owner has reportedly said it was not Robinson. Geography debates compare this stop to alleged late-night Orem activity (~3-hour drive issues if both true) — post-shot escape, Travel.

  • ~11:00 PM onward (alleged texts; state theory)Preliminary-hearing inventories describe a longer text thread with roommate Lance Twiggs in which the account attributed to Robinson allegedly admitted the shooting, referenced a towel-wrapped rifle in a bush, and discussed a failed retrieval — beyond the three short evening texts above. A note photographed under a keyboard and later described as partially burnt is also part of the State package. Authenticity and authorship are contested by custody-first investigators — see Lance Twiggs' phone and forensic phone extraction.

  • ~12:30–12:38 AM Sept 11 (hearing testimony, disputed ID) — According to Agent David Hull testimony clips and state inventories, a gray Dodge Challenger associated with Robinson appeared near the gun-recovery area (Noble Ring / Campus Drive). An officer reportedly recorded the plate. Defense-focused commentary notes a homeowner report of a bald driver and three passengers — see rental cars and vehicle movements.

September 11, 2025

  • 6:00 AM — President Trump appeared on Fox & Friends, stating "with a high degree of certainty" that Kirk's suspected killer was in custody. (This was still before Robinson's surrender under the official public timeline.)

  • 7:00 AM — Officials announced overnight forensic breakthroughs: recovery of the Mauser .30-06 rifle, footwear impressions, a palm print, and forearm impression from the wooded area north of campus. The recovery order is disputed — feds directed the re-search that found the rifle and Mauser rifle chain of custody.

  • 7:15 AM — Robinson's gray Dodge Challenger appeared on surveillance cameras at the Maverik gas station in Cedar City, Utah — approximately 215 miles south of Orem and on the route to Washington County (St. George area). Robinson wore a maroon shirt and dark hat. He paid with a credit card, pumped gas for fewer than 3 minutes, and drove away.

  • 9:58 AM — FBI Salt Lake City publicly released first two photos of the person of interest — a man in sunglasses, a dark blue cap, and a black T-shirt with an eagle and American flag graphic, seen walking in a stairwell. See enhanced suspect photos and enhanced stairwell photos released after custody.

  • 10:44 AM — FBI announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect — suspect manhunt and misidentification.

  • Afternoon–evening (official narrative) — A family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend — a retired detective with LDS community ties, named Mike Mitchell in public prelim inventories (@aburkhartlaw) — with information that Robinson had confessed or implied he had committed the incident. This information was relayed to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, then to the Utah County Sheriff's Office and scene investigators at UVU, and also conveyed to the FBI. Agent Hull later called the Washington County tip of an individual turning himself in named Tyler Robinson the "big break." See Tyler Robinson family.

  • Afternoon–evening (family-attributed counter-claim) — Circulating third-party videos claim the parents say he did not confess, that they called a bishop from fear, and that the turn-in chain was not a confession relay; some claim phone confiscation on arrival at WCSO. Unverified family-sourced citizen media — see Tyler Robinson family and phone and devices.

  • Afternoon–6:25 PM (contested soft-room start) — One Bates-stamp analysis (@VLuvMully) argues WCSO soft-room recording had already run ~3.5 hours before the 6:25 PM Miranda reading (video time 03:36:53 = wall-clock 6:25), implying presence from ~3:00 PM. Other hearing watchers say sworn testimony places voluntary arrival just before 9:00 PM, with WCSO holding him without interrogation until Utah County / State Bureau of Investigation staff arrived. See Mirandizing and the 24-hour investigative hold counterpoint.

  • 6:17 PM — FBI released additional photos of the person of interest.

  • 6:25 PM — Tyler Robinson was read his Miranda rights. A law enforcement officer stated: "So Tyler, um, before we begin, I'm just gonna read you your rights." Robinson acknowledged each right. When asked whether he was willing to proceed with questioning, Robinson invoked his right to counsel: "Uh, I would like to speak with my, uh, legal counsel. I'm hoping for a fellow in Utah named Doug Terry." Source: Defense motion 3_30_26, Bates 003996-R2, video timestamp 03:36:53.

  • 6:26 PM — Robinson stated the attorney's office was closed for the night and invoked his right to remain silent: "But, uh, until I've had the opportunity to speak with someone, I would like to remain silent." Source: Defense motion 3_30_26, Bates 003996-R2, video timestamp 03:37:38–03:37:52.

  • 7:30 PM — Press conference with Governor Cox and officials showing suspect photos and surveillance video. Cox reported over 7,000 tips received and nearly 200 completed interviews. See press conferences and statements.

  • 7:45 PM (approx.) — Air Force Two carrying Charlie Kirk's casket landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, accompanied by widow Erika Kirk, Vice President JD Vance, and Second Lady Usha Vance. See the funeral and memorial timeline.

  • 7:57 PMDiscord messages allegedly posted by Tyler Robinson under username zealous_moneky_55095 appeared online: "Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. Im sorry for all of this. Im surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments." and "thanks for all the good times and laughs." This was approximately 1.5 hours after the 6:25 PM Mirandizing. Critics ask how messages were sent if a phone was confiscated; the State points to Discord production under subpoena and Twiggs' identification of the account (custody vs Discord, Discord and custody timeline). Authorship is contested and unadjudicated.

  • 8:02–8:04 PM — Sheriff Nate Brooksby of the Washington County Sheriff's Office received a phone call from the retired detective family friend: "I know who the Charlie Kirk shooter is. He's in Washington County now, and we're working on trying to get him to come in voluntarily." Sheriff Mike Smith of the Utah County Sheriff's Office received a call from Sheriff Brooksby about this development. Brooksby later described suicidal-ideation concerns and a family-arranged "peaceful, gentle" surrender — see Washington County Sheriff and the surrender and Miranda at 6:25 PM versus Brooksby's account.

  • ~8:30 PM (document vs testimony; Parker analysis)@BasedSamParker argues investigators were ordered to fly to St. George around 8:30 p.m. — before the publicized ~9:00 p.m. surrender — and that Officer Brian Davis is listed as 10:00 p.m. arresting officer while testifying to near-midnight arrival. That is his reconstruction, not a court finding.

  • ~9:00 PM / ~9:50–10:26 PM (competing arrival clocks) — Media and some hearing-watcher summaries of Davis and Hull testimony place voluntary arrival just before 2100. Government documents record arrival at the Washington County Sheriff's Office at approximately 2226 hours (10:26 PM) with parents. Robinson was placed uncuffed on a couch with his parents, given water, and was not questioned for approximately 2.5 hours while lead investigators traveled from Utah County (or arrived by air per Parker’s reconstruction). See Tyler Robinson surrender and the claim that he did not surrender voluntarily.

  • 10:00 PM — Utah County booking sheet records Robinson's arrest time as approximately 10:00 PM. FBI stated custody time was "around 10 PM." The paper conflict is on booking sheet arrest time contradicts the affidavit.

September 12, 2025

  • ~12:30 AM — After approximately 2.5 hours at the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Robinson was transferred to FBI custody and other agencies. Utah County investigators (including Officer Brian Davis) had completed the approximately 3.25–4 hour drive from Utah County (or the charter flight described by Parker).

  • 1:58 AM — Booking materials show "Date In 09/12/2025 01:58 AM" under Booking #460956 — one of the competing arrest/booking anchors (with 10:00 PM Sept 11 and 4:00 AM formal arrest). Full map: arrest, booking and affidavit timeline.

  • 4:00 AM — Official arrest time per Utah County booking sheet. Formal arrest logged. Probable cause had been established and reviewed. Robinson booked at the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork, Utah (jail and custody record). Charges:

    • Aggravated Murder (1st Degree Felony)
    • Felony Discharge of a Firearm Causing Serious Bodily Injury (1st Degree Felony)
    • Obstruction of Justice (2nd Degree Felony)
    • Held without bail.
  • 7:18 AM — Probable Cause formally entered by Officer Brian Davis (Utah Attorney General, UTBDAVIS). Probable Cause ID: 189904. → Affidavit of Probable Cause

  • Morning — Utah State Bureau of Investigation issued a request for records from Discord relating to Tyler Robinson's username and chat history (Discord evidence in court).

  • Post-arrest home search (state theory via hearing) — Exhibits described at the July 2026 prelim include a Dremel and bit, a "Test Shot" engraved casing, additional .30-06 ammo and perforated targets at the residence, with the Mauser already recovered on campus grounds Sept 10. State allegation only.

  • 5:00 PM — Utah County official press release issued publicly announcing Robinson's arrest and potential charges, stating formal charges would be filed by noon September 16.

September 16, 2025

  • Formal charges filed. Information and Bail Order issued. Notice of Intent to Seek Death Penalty filed — six days after the shooting. Pretrial Protective Order issued, opening the gag and publicity order sequence. Public Safety Assessment conducted.
  • Officer Brian Davis (Utah Attorney General) submitted the Affidavit of Probable Cause. Offense dates on all counts listed as 09/12/2025 — an administrative dating oddity noted by analysts (Friel and others) relative to the 09/10 shooting date.

Laws (Charlie Kirk)

  • Cell tower data for Robinson's phone across these movements and who received Kirk's "THEY ARE GOING TO KILL ME" (KM-07) texts and the SU‑BTT flight manifest departing 7:08 AM that day are things that the Charlie Kirk Investigation Laws may result in powerful truths coming out that aren't out yet.

Citizen Investigator Claims on X

September 2025 sub-timeline for Robinson remains the battleground for “impossible timeline” claims in the master file.

  • Citizen posts allege insufficient time for alleged movements with a full-size rifle unobserved — backpack and rifle impossibility.
  • Pre-shot all-black roof figure is used to argue a different body occupied the official perch — black-clad suspect dropped, Stairs Guy identity gap.
  • Dairy Queen / Panguitch receipt path is used as an evening alibi fragment; state-leaning watchers note neither stop is needed for the noon shot clock and the DQ image was not a prelim exhibit.
  • Custody-first school: Miranda 6:25 → Discord 7:57 impossible if phone seized; Bates pre-roll implies a ~3 PM soft room. Argument, not adjudicated.
  • Prelim counter (hearing watchers): Davis and Hull — arrival just before 2100; not Mirandized by WCSO at the door; Discord pre-custody; interview-room video exists.
  • Keep claims attributed; acknowledge prosecution’s contrary video/DNA theory as the competing package. Robinson is charged, not convicted.

Open Questions Raised by Investigators

  1. Full Losee Center stair and roof CCTV unredacted? See UVU HD footage withheld.
  2. Independent walking-time tests matching affidavit intervals?
  3. Can Panguitch 8:55–9:47 PM and Noble Ring ~12:30 AM both be true for the same driver?
  4. When was Robinson’s phone last in his physical control relative to the 7:57 PM Discord messages? See phone and devices.
  5. Does full discovery confirm Bates pre-roll soft-room start ~3:00 PM? See discovery and Brady disputes.
