Audio, Acoustic & Mic Timeline (Shot Timing & Analysis)
This page runs two clocks. The first is measured in milliseconds — the arrival-order sequence that acoustic analysts read off the Canon XA55 broadcast camera at 12:23:30 PM MDT on September 10, 2025. The second runs in months — how the under-shirt mic placement, the RODE transmitter, the shirt-pull footage, and the burnt object recovered from the SUV surfaced publicly between late 2025 and mid-2026 and were assembled into an argument that the sound did not originate on a roof. The official finding remains a rifle gunshot, and Tyler Robinson is charged, not convicted. Every entry below is labeled by sourcing strength.
Clock One: The Acoustic Sequence (milliseconds)
The reference recorder is a Canon XA55 professional camcorder positioned roughly 46 metres from the tent. Unlike phone recordings, it captured uncompressed audio on four channels at 48,000 samples per second — the reason analysts treat it as the day's cleanest acoustic witness. Phones nearer the stage smear the events into one noise; the distance gave the Canon an acoustic buffer.

T+0 to ~T+100 ms (claimed) — Analysts report the high frequencies arrived first, spread across more than 100 milliseconds rather than arriving together. Their argument: a supersonic projectile produces crack-before-boom separation, whereas a single blast at one point radiates all frequencies to the microphone simultaneously. T+321 ms (claimed) — Third and loudest low-frequency event, which the analysts place approximately 46 metres from the camera — i.e. at the stage, under the tent, where Kirk was seated. They argue it is not an echo or reflection because it is the strongest low-frequency peak in the entire recording, and echoes attenuate. T+321 ms, interpretation (claimed) — Proponents conclude two events at two locations roughly 185 ms apart: a rifle at 120 m and a detonation at the stage. Their framing is that a single shooter cannot produce a detonation under a tent 120 m from the rifle, and a device cannot produce a muzzle blast 120 m away. This is an inference from waveform structure, not a court finding — the counterargument is that reverberation off the Losee Center and adjacent hard surfaces can produce late, loud low-frequency returns.

Across repeated runs, one location kept resolving: in the courtyard, within about 2 metres of Charlie Kirk, not on a roof. Same second — Freqazoid TDoA geometry (claimed) — A circulated acoustic-forensics write-up associated with @Freqazoid26 (promoted by @dustinodaffer, ~June 2026) concludes via TDoA, impact-to-muzzle timing, and reflections that the origin is the south courtyard ~50–95 m (best estimate ~72.5 m), treating Losee Center (~130 m) arrivals as late higher-order echoes, not the direct blast. This is a fourth geometry distinct from pure roof, on-body detonation, and teachers-balcony claims.

Same second — third-path multilateration (claimed) — @troofevades TDOA multilateration on four synchronized phone recordings argues the waveform fits neither a pure Losee rooftop gunshot nor a single-point on-body detonation.

Same second, competing direction claim (claimed) — A sound-and-acoustics engineer walking through a 3D model argued the sound came from the south, above the teachers' balcony — another candidate origin that agrees with neither the rooftop account nor the courtyard triangulation. Direction from human behavior (claimed) — Video analysts (@ClydeMax369) argue involuntary acoustic orienting in the crowd points left of Kirk. Separate witness compilations (@DiligentDenizen) collect reports of sound from the east / mountains (elevated) and “firecracker” character — five-plus witnesses said to disagree with a pure Losee direction.

Source-media integrity (claimed) — File forensics on circulated Canon-derived clips (@troofevades, March 2026) allege the native XA55 container for MVI_0625.MP4 was stripped, bitrate cut ~10×, length cut from ~11:15 to a ~32 s clip, and metadata fields added (including titles/dates not native to the original). Clock Two: How the Mic Evidence Emerged
The setup, before the event

Pre-event, September 10, 2025 (reported) — The wireless lavalier is placed under Charlie Kirk's shirt rather than clipped outside it, with the transmitter pack on his left side at the belt. Researchers note the mic already had a furry windscreen fitted — a component that only functions in open air — and that other outdoor debates show the same rig worn on the outside of his shirt. The placement is attributed to Phillip Goldsberry Jr.; no allegation of wrongdoing is made, and the question raised is why the configuration differed that day. Pre-event (claimed, model unresolved) — Which RODE unit he was wearing is not settled. One update states a RODE Wireless PRO (32-bit float, lapel magnet, dock). Another proponent thread identifies a RODE Wireless ME. A third strand about a square object in a bystander's pocket cites Wireless GO II dimensions of roughly 1.8–2 inches. ~12:24 PM MDT (claimed) — Debris later described as shattered black plastic or tempered glass is said to be present on the floor of the SUV used to transport Kirk. Proponents argue a fragmenting transmitter would scatter small glass and electronic pieces whereas a single rifle round would not. Late 2025 (claimed) — The exploding-mic hypothesis takes shape publicly: that a shaped charge concealed in or alongside the transmitter, rather than a distant round, produced the neck wound. December 18, 2025 (claimed) — @BlakeBednarz high-reach tent-overhead analysis: vibration ring and debris interpreted as under-shirt detonation, not a ~140-yard rifle impact alone. Early visual-detonation node later built on by mic-theory proponents.

Late 2025 – 2026 (claimed) — Proponents pair the mic theory with a DoD contract for miniature explosive devices signed April 22, 2025 and with the AES plant explosion in Tennessee, arguing capability and coincidence (some threads also align alleged ~Aug 25 delivery/close-out with the ~Aug 27 UVU stop announcement). 2026 (claimed) — A clearer photograph of the burnt object, taken while the vehicle sat at an auto auction, is circulated. Annotators say a thicker black section at the object's left edge contains a melted female audio jack of the type found on the top of the RODE transmitter, and that a fragment in the centre of the mass carries writing and a circular symbol they match to warning markings on a modified battery pack. Competing annotators match dimensions to Sennheiser G4 instead (see hardware fork above).

2026 (counterargument) — Skeptics reply that melted polyester fused with charred tissue can present features that pattern-match to almost anything at that resolution, that no chain of custody for the SUV has been published, and that the transmitter model itself is still unsettled within the proponent camp. June 21, 2026 (claimed) — A 4K close-up of the shirt is published and read frame by frame as showing an explosive path: initiation at the left-side mic pack, detonation under the fabric, the object driven upward producing the pinch over the left shoulder, then falling back and tracking diagonally across the chest to rest at the lower right. June 2026 — dual-event refinement (claimed) — As summarized by @BasedSamParker after TriggerSmart debate context (@jonaaronbray / @triggersmarthq): a real gunshot (possibly rooftop) for witness audio / cover plus a Mach-cone acoustic trigger to a body-worn device, with the lethal mechanism described as a high-pressure jet / hydrostatic effect. Competing reads of necklace vs circuit-board “swoosh” remain internal to the proponent camp. Theory attributed to Bray/Parker ecosystem — not proven.

2026 (counterargument, direct) — A critic argues the theory has gone viral precisely because it is unfalsifiable in practice: a simulated shaped-charge test promised for more than six months has not been produced, and demonstrating or refuting the mechanism would take an afternoon in a test range — the closest public attempt is catalogued at Demonstration of a Shaped Charge. That absence of a physical replication is the strongest standing objection.

July 2026 — physics + ME counters (claimed/reported) — Physics critiques (@alexboge and others) argue a shirt-clipped transmitter cannot form a proper shaped-charge jet without liner, standoff, and rigid fixation; multi-angle video shows puff without tear/flash/soot expected of contact explosives; frame critics note the mic pack stays still while the back of the shirt moves first (@wtshesaid72; @paramounttactcl shirt-integrity argument). Hearing coverage cited by critics states the autopsy entered gunshot wound to the neck with bullet fragments recovered — if accurate, any mic-only theory must also explain the projectile evidence. - Why was the lavalier placed under the shirt when the fitted windscreen implies outside placement, and who made that call?
- Was the recovered transmitter ever tested for explosive residue, and if so, by whom and with what result?
- Can a controlled acoustic test at the courtyard reproduce the three-peak structure from a single rooftop shot, and has anyone tried?

The original uncompressed multi-channel Canon XA55 audio with intact metadata, the AV run-sheet and equipment inventory identifying the exact RODE model and who fitted it, the chain-of-custody file for the SUV and the burnt object recovered from it, any explosive-residue or laboratory testing performed on the transmitter and on Kirk's clothing, and the full ATF and state ballistics work product behind the class-characteristic-only fragment finding are things the Charlie Kirk Investigation Laws may result in powerful truths coming out that aren't out yet.
