The Shooting: 12:23 PM MDT Minute-by-Minute Timeline

This page covers 66 seconds. The master investigation file logs a reconstruction that starts at 12:23:30 PM MDT — the instant of the shot — and ends at 12:24:36 PM MDT. The public second-by-second courtyard evacuation offsets match the December 2025 reconstruction posted by @BasedSamParker (complete evacuation timeline), which flags the McCoy/Neff witness conflict without accusing anyone of a crime. Everything inside that window is timed to the second against video frames, and almost every second inside it is contested. Times below are Mountain Daylight Time (MDT / Utah clock), with elapsed offsets shown as mm:ss from the 12:23:30 start mark unless a competing bang second is noted.

For the wider window either side of these 66 seconds, see the ten minutes before the shot and the ten minutes after.

The Timeline

Setup — 12:15 to 12:23:29 PM MDT

The 66 seconds — 12:23:30 to 12:24:36 PM MDT

  • 12:23:27 PM MDT (alternate bang) — A later multi-angle analysis by @BasedSamParker (Dec 8, 2025) places the bang at 12:23:27 rather than 12:23:30. Early circulating "FBI subject timeline" graphics also used 12:20. These are competing citizen clocks beside the site standard and the media 12:27 figure (shot-time disputes).

  • 12:23:30 PM MDT — 00:00 — The shot (site standard). Charlie Kirk is struck in the neck mid-answer; official accounts and the master file use this second, while competing clocks are unpacked on the shot-time dispute page and 12:23 vs 12:27.

  • ~12:23 PM MDT (parallel vehicle clock, claimed) — Baron Coleman parking-lot analysis, as summarized on X, describes a white SUV that arrives near the shot second, pauses during the roof-egress window, then leaves — a vehicle clock concurrent with the courtyard 66 seconds (unproven support-vehicle theory; see vehicles timeline and the Baron Coleman timeline).

  • 12:23:30 PM MDT — 00:00 — In a separate reconstruction preserved in the master file and the Sam Parker public log, Mikey McCoy — TPUSA chief of staff — is described as calling his wife Elizabeth McCoy at the same second the shot lands, the claim examined on McCoy Reportedly Phones His Wife as the Shot Lands. When Erika Kirk's account of a Mikey call is restated, convert carefully: the reconstruction notes a 12:23 MDT / 11:23 AM Arizona dual-zone risk.

  • 12:23:34 PM MDT — 00:04 — The publicly released rooftop video begins here, four seconds after the shot; researchers argue the trim point conceals roughly 60 feet of the runner's path, a complaint filed under withholding rooftop video and selective 4K release.

  • 12:23:48 PM MDT — 00:18Security begins to move Charlie. This is the first entry in the master file's / Sam Parker second-by-second log; the security team response and the absence of a staged medical plan are covered on six officers, no ambulance.

  • 12:23:55 PM MDT — 00:25 — A second reconstruction in the master file states Kirk "is carried into the SUV" at this second — six seconds earlier than the 00:31 load time in the primary log. Both figures are recorded here; neither has been authenticated against a released, timecoded master video.

  • 12:23:57 PM MDT — 00:27Terryl Farnsworth is already in position on the rock pile, filming. The speed with which he reached that vantage is the whole subject of Farnsworth Already Filming From the Rock Pile. @DiligentDenizen compilations and a July 2026 site-visit thread (@AmericaOnlyBro) further allege he was moving to a climb vantage before Kirk hit the ground; Candace Owens–linked releases claim he also filmed a selfie-style reaction clip while Charlie was carried out. These are video-based citizen claims about living AV staff — not court findings of wrongdoing. Later handling of camera media is covered under SD cards removed from the scene.

  • 12:24:01 PM MDT — 00:31Charlie is loaded into the SUV. The vehicle itself, its blurred windows, and what happened to it afterwards are documented on the SUV transporting Charlie and SUV blurred windows.

  • 12:24:02 PM MDT — 00:32 — In the frame at this second, Mikey McCoy is alone; Blake Neff is nowhere in view. This single frame is the anchor of the McCoy alone in frame, Neff nowhere conflict described below. 2026 posts still ask which vehicle Neff entered and when he left the courtyard — still unanswered on the public record.

  • 12:24:03 PM MDT — 00:33Mikey McCoy is well past the SUV, without Blake Neff. The master file's author and Sam Parker both state plainly that they make no accusation and are only trying to reconstruct the timeline; the same caution applies on this page.

  • 12:24:12 PM MDT — 00:42Frank Turek gets into the SUV. Turek is one of the small group in the vehicle alongside Brian Harpole and Dan Flood per accounts collected on the hospital-trip page.

  • 12:24:13 to 12:24:35 PM MDT — 00:43–01:05The SUV departs for the hospital. The 22-second spread is the master file's own range, not a single logged departure second; the destination choice is analysed on hospital choice and transport and trauma center bypassed.

  • 12:24:22 PM MDT — 00:52"They just shot Charlie" — Terryl Farnsworth, on his own audio. This is the first spoken confirmation captured in the reconstruction window.

  • 12:24:36 PM MDT — 01:06"He's dead" — Terryl Farnsworth. Sixty-six seconds after the shot, a bystander with a camera states the outcome that the hospital would not announce for another forty minutes or more. The reconstruction ends here.

Immediately outside the window

  • 12:24 PM MDT — A second reconstruction places the SUV beginning transport at this minute, and researchers note that N1098L flew a 335 ft AGL low pass over Orem at 12:24 PM, addressed on N1098L low-pass timing and N1098L HADES over UVU.

  • ~12:24 PM MDT — Filings describe a dark item — the rifle wrapped in a dark towel — being placed on the rooftop before the figure drops to the grass, the sequence handled on rifle and towel on the roof and the gun-discovery sequence.

  • ~+2 to +9 minutes (citizen staff-anomaly log, claimed) — @DiligentDenizen compilations place additional courtyard acts just outside the 66-second window: Farnsworth removing camera media (including a claimed handoff to Phillip Goldsberry Jr who then leaves), and photographer Andrew Feraci plus a videographer turning toward a pre-positioned exit path rather than the impact. Living staff — describe alleged acts on video only; no intent or crime is asserted here. SD-card chain continues on cameras and SD cards removed and ten minutes after.

  • 12:26 PM MDT — Per one reconstruction, Mikey McCoy three-ways Erika Kirk into a call; per police audio summarized in the master file, the first radio report of a shooting also lands around 12:26, covered on the dispatch and scanner timeline.

  • Mar 2026 (rear-camera release) — Candace Owens released the rear-camera segment of the impact window; online commentary emphasizes no visible blood on Kirk's back in that angle — a wound-path observation carried on wound analysis and competing theories and dated on the Candace Owens timeline.

  • July 2026 (hearing coverage) — Some courtroom reporters claim prosecutors played roof video of the shot sequence at the preliminary hearing; other hearing summaries quote that no clear public clip of the shooting itself was shown. Both statements circulate; the untrimmed master video remains the open request.

  • 12:29–12:35 PM MDT (estimated) — Kirk arrives at Timpanogos Regional Hospital; everything from here forward belongs to the ten-minutes-after timeline and the medical and death timeline.

Open Questions

  1. Is there a single, continuous, timecoded master video of the courtyard covering 12:23:00 to 12:25:00 — and if so, why has only a trimmed excerpt starting at 12:23:34 been released, and how does July 2026 courtroom video relate to that master?
  2. Which bang second is correct for frame sync — 12:23:27, 12:23:30, 12:20, or 12:27 — and against which authenticated clock?
  3. Which SUV-load second is correct, 12:23:55 or 12:24:01, and what frame does each derive from?
  4. What do carrier records show for the McCoy call sequence — outbound at 12:23:30 MDT (or 11:23 Arizona), and who was actually on each leg?
  5. Where was Blake Neff standing between 12:23:30 and 12:24:36, which vehicle did he enter, and does any frame place him beside McCoy?
  6. Does the courtyard audio captured by the AV team contain a second acoustic event, as argued on the two-event split page?
  7. What is the exact second the SUV crossed the campus boundary, and does any traffic or campus camera confirm it inside the 00:43–01:05 range?
  8. Who is the white SUV at bang in Coleman parking-lot analysis, and is it identified in any LPR or release?

Laws (Charlie Kirk)

The untrimmed rooftop and courtyard master video with authenticated timecodes, the full AV team audio recordings for 12:23–12:25, the carrier call-detail records for the calls placed from the courtyard in the first ninety seconds, the SUV's own telematics and departure log, and the chain-of-custody record for every camera and SD card taken from the scene are things the Charlie Kirk Investigation Laws may result in powerful truths coming out that aren't out yet.
