Immediate Aftermath: 10 Minutes After the Shot (12:23–12:33 PM MDT)

This page covers the ten minutes from the shot to the hospital doors — 12:23:30 to roughly 12:33 PM MDT on September 10, 2025. It is the window in which the courtyard emptied, the SUV left, the first phone calls were placed, and the first radio traffic was archived. Nearly every enduring dispute in this case is seeded here, because nearly every second of it is documented by a different source that disagrees with the others.

All clock times are Utah time (MDT) unless stated otherwise. The elapsed marks in parentheses — 00:18, 00:31 — come from the investigation file's own second-by-second reconstruction, which starts its clock at 12:23:30 and stops at 12:24:36.

The Timeline​

12:23:30–12:24:36 — The sixty-six seconds on the record​

  • 12:23:27–12:23:30 PM (00:00) — The shot. Citizen reconstructions (e.g. @BasedSamParker, Dec 2025) place it at roughly 12:23:27–12:23:30; hearing-era commentary sometimes uses 12:23:28. Charlie Kirk is struck in the neck while seated under the tent in the UVU courtyard; the instant itself is broken down on the 12:23 minute-by-minute page, and the competing 12:27 shot time is argued at Shooting Time Disputes.

  • ~12:23 PM (radio — OpenMHz / KUTV) — KUTV's later key-moments timeline cites OpenMHz UVU PD audio of an officer ("Alpha 34") reporting shots fired and "Charlie Kirk is down." That wording may sit earlier than the investigation file's ~12:26 "first archived report" figure; both clocks stay listed until every channel used that day is published — see dispatch and scanner timeline and first-police-report gap.

  • 12:23:30 PM (00:00) — One unattributed reconstruction in the investigation file places Mikey McCoy's call to his wife Elizabeth McCoy in the same second as the shot; the site's review of that item notes it rests on no phone record, log or screenshot and rates it a thin claim.

  • 12:23:48 PM (00:18) — Security begins moving Kirk out of the chair, an interval researchers measure against the absence of counter-snipers or a medical standby and the broader perimeter and rooftop failures reported for that day. Deseret News eyewitness Emma Pitts described blood from the left side of the neck and near-instant limpness — a detail used against "ten seconds of awareness" theories.

  • 12:23:55 PM — A competing reconstruction in the same source file — the "Ben Shapiro was told first" sequence — places Kirk carried into the SUV at 12:23:55, six seconds earlier than the loading time in the main reconstruction below. ABC reporting describes roughly six men carrying him.

  • 12:23:57 PM (00:27) — Terryl Farnsworth is recorded as already in position on the rock pile filming, twenty-seven seconds after the shot; the rock-pile item sets out both the suspicion and the ordinary explanation.

  • 12:24:01 PM (00:31) — Kirk is loaded into the black GMC Yukon Denali — the vehicle whose interior Candace Owens later photographed and whose debris became the core of the SUV photo thread and the exploding-microphone theory.

  • 12:24:02–12:24:03 PM (00:33) — McCoy is seen well past the SUV, without Blake Neff — the single frame that generates the call-witness conflict documented at McCoy alone in frame, Neff nowhere.

  • Late October 2025 (TPUSA-side account of those seconds) — Neff and Andrew Kolvet publicly described McCoy reacting in shock and moving to call Erika Kirk then Rob McCoy, with Kolvet adding that McCoy had been filming for a staff group chat and was not already on a phone call when the shot hit — "Charlie drilled it into his brain" to call Erika if something happened, per amplifications such as @MJTruthUltra.

  • 12:24:12 PM (00:42) — Frank Turek gets into the SUV; witness accounts circulated later describe him performing CPR during the drive, a detail that sits alongside the chest-versus-neck witness conflicts.

  • 12:24:13–12:24:35 PM (00:43–01:05) — The SUV departs for the hospital. No ambulance was on standby at the event — a gap researchers tie both to proposed event security standards and to the argument that paramedics would have been the first trained eyes on the wound.

  • 12:24:22 PM (00:52) — Farnsworth is recorded saying "They just shot Charlie." Separate citizen compilations say Farnsworth later called A/V techs in Arizona rather than 911 — still unauthenticated by published logs.

  • 12:24:36 PM (01:06) — Farnsworth is recorded saying "He's dead." The reconstruction ends on that line — roughly 39 minutes before the same file's estimate of the surgeon's pronouncement, which is the whole of the death-timeline argument.

12:24–12:26 — Rooftop egress, aircraft, and the first radio traffic​

  • ~12:24 PM — Per the probable-cause affidavit, the person the State identifies as Robinson placed a dark-colored item — a rifle wrapped in a dark towel — on the Losee Center roof, lowered himself to the grass and ran north; that sequence is disputed on the roof-jumping page and in the rifle-towel item.

  • ~12:24 PM (hearing-era detail, 2026) — Public accounts of Officer Chris Bagley's testimony describe him recognizing a rifle shot, looking toward the Losee Center, rushing the roof, and later noting a red-and-black screwdriver in the gravel; his body camera reportedly died on that roof. Hearing summaries of Utah SBI investigator Agent David Hull describe post-shot flight with an object, lowering from the roof, and fleeing a wooded area — and the widely quoted exchange that there is no footage of the trigger pull itself from the roof ("There is not, Judge"). Tyler Robinson is charged, not convicted.

  • ~12:24 PM — Surveillance stills timestamped 12:23:29, 12:23:34, 12:23:45 and 12:23:54 trace a figure across the rooftop toward the northeast corner of the Losee Center; a citizen analysis argues the released clip was trimmed to begin at 12:23:34, by which point the runner was already about 60 feet from the perch — see runner sprint before the shot and UVU campus surveillance.

  • 12:24 PM — N1098L, the HADES-associated ISR aircraft, is logged making a low pass at 335 ft AGL over Orem — one minute after the shot, following an earlier 600 ft pass at 11:47 AM; the timing argument is at N1098L low-pass timing and the HADES low passes claim page.

  • 12:26 PM — Per the investigation file, police audio carries the first report of the shooting — about two and a half minutes after the shot and roughly ninety seconds after the SUV had already gone. That figure sits alongside the OpenMHz "Alpha 34" wording cited for ~12:23 above. The first-police-report gap page argues the 12:26 stamp may simply be the first transmission on one archived channel, and that event security runs on its own unarchived channel.

  • Claims about 911 (Nov–Dec 2025 compilations) — According to @BasedSamParker and mirrored commentary, Blake Neff, Andrew Kolvet, Mikey McCoy, and Terryl Farnsworth each indicated they did not place 911 calls; Brian Harpole has said security called on the way to the hospital; the missing-call question is on the 911 call that reportedly never came. Citizen writers later argued the hospital did not appear to expect them. Carrier records have not been published. Timing discrepancies in the worst two minutes of people's lives are ordinary; nothing here asserts a crime.

  • 12:26 PM — The same "Shapiro told first" reconstruction places McCoy three-waying in Erika Kirk at 12:26 — three minutes later than the 12:23 call time she has reportedly described. Early "11:23" quotes in some recaps are consistent with Arizona (MST) vs Utah (MDT) offset confusion rather than a separate clock. Both 12:23 and 12:26 versions sit in the record unreconciled; see the Erika Kirk timeline.

  • Unverified call-sequence reconstruction (Dec 2025) — An X post by @idontgiveadom listed a minute-by-minute chain: McCoy→Elizabeth (~10 minutes), Neff→mother (~45 seconds ending ~12:25), Erika added ~12:26 and dropped ~12:28, Rob added ~12:30 and ended ~12:32, Elizabeth ended ~12:34. No public CDRs accompany the list — research hypothesis only.

  • 12:26 PM onward — Dispatch broadcasts a suspect description of a male in all black with a black mask, carrying a long gun — the description that anchors the black-clothing suspect thread and the dispatch and scanner timeline.

12:26–12:33 — Crowd video, camera handling, and the drive to Timpanogos​

  • ~12:26–12:30 PM — The first crowd-shot phone videos of the tent and courtyard begin circulating; some of those witnesses later reported the footage had vanished from their phones by the time they got home (videos deleted remotely) and at least one says the FBI asked him to delete his video.

  • Untimed, inside this window — Farnsworth is alleged to have removed the SD card from the camera positioned behind Kirk's head, with TPUSA reportedly stating that police instructed it or that it was done to prevent theft. The allegation carries no timestamp anywhere in the source file; it is treated at crime-scene camera actions, the executive who removed the camera SD card and TPUSA production footage.

  • Untimed, inside this window — Andrew Kolvet is described in the same threads as publicly explaining the camera handling afterward; his account and the counter-accounts sit on the wrong witnesses page rather than being adjudicated here.

  • Reported for this window — The same reconstruction asserts that Ben Shapiro began receiving real-time updates on Kirk's condition from inside the SUV while it was en route, and learned of the shooting before Erika Kirk did. That is an unattributed claim with no message logs behind it and is recorded here as an allegation only.

  • 12:29–12:35 PM (estimated) — The SUV arrives at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem. The choice of a Level IV trauma center over the closer, more capable Utah Valley Hospital is examined at trauma center bypassed and hospital choice and transport; the drive itself is at Charlie's trip to the hospital. Later-circulated Baron Coleman footage (amplified ~July 2026) reportedly shows McCoy, Neff, and other TPUSA staff entering the hospital — presence after a fatal incident is not wrongdoing.

  • ~12:33 PM — window closes — By the tenth minute the courtyard is emptying and campus is moving toward lockdown, leaving the UVU security and surveillance record as the only continuous account of the scene. What came next — the manhunt, the false custody reports, the press conferences — is on September 10, 2025, the Kash Patel manhunt timeline and the Kash Patel press briefings.

  • 12:48 PM (just outside the window, for context) — Drones logged as dropped off at 9:16 AM are logged as picked up at 12:48 PM, twenty-five minutes after the shot — a bracket raised on the drones pages and in distraction events.

Open Questions​

  1. Is there a synchronized master clock across the UVU surveillance system, the TPUSA production cameras and the phone videos — and if not, how many of the conflicts above are simply clock drift?
  2. What do carrier records for 12:18–12:28 PM actually show about who called whom, and in what order?
  3. Why does the only released rooftop clip begin at 12:23:34 rather than at the start of the recording?
  4. What is the first archived transmission on every channel in use that day, including any private security channel — not only the one that produced the 12:26 figure?
  5. Was there any medical standby at the venue at all, and who made the decision not to have one?
  6. Which hospital received Kirk first, and why does at least one medical file reportedly show Utah Valley Hospital rather than Timpanogos?
