Official Suspect Narrative (Charged, Not Adjudicated)
Mainstream reporting and charging documents allege:
- Tyler Robinson, 22, a UVU student, fired from a rooftop of the Losee Center with a .30-06 Mauser Model 98 bolt-action rifle
- FBI released video allegedly showing a figure climbing to a rooftop, firing, jumping down, and fleeing — leaving a rifle behind (FBI video repository)
- Robinson was detained in less than 36 hours; prosecutors have charged capital murder and related counts
Robinson has not been convicted at the time of this writing. Treat all prosecution allegations as pending.
