Zeb Boykin — A Scout Sniper's Frame-by-Frame Ballistics Read
What This Video Is
A 21 minute 59 second screen-recorded analysis video by Zeb Boykin, who opens by naming himself and his show: "Welcome to Let's Talk about It. My name is Boykin. I am host of Outside the Overton." He describes his background as five years as a United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper, during which he says he taught ballistics classes — "I'm not some rando out here."
The format is a home-studio vlog crossed with a screen share. Boykin sits in front of a chalkboard headed "THE FBI IS LYING" with a numbered list of ballistics points under it; a skeleton model, a model aircraft and a bookshelf of military memorabilia are behind him. He cuts between talking to camera, a Final Cut Pro timeline holding several bystander videos from the Utah Valley University event, a Google Earth satellite view of the courtyard with four camera positions marked, and stock diagrams of entry and exit wounds and of temporary cavity formation. He also uses his own lapel microphone and earpiece as physical props.

What Is Said
Boykin frames the whole exercise as an attempt to start clean. In the opening two minutes he says he did not want to make the video, sets out three "pre-reqs," and asks the viewer to set aside the official account entirely — "let's not take them at their word on any ... anything moving forward specifically who the shooter is, where the shooter is ... I would even go as far to say, the round or the caliber of the round that the shooter was using." He also states clearly what he is not doing: "I'm not going to touch on any of the inconsistencies of this case outside of the ballistics."
He says nine camera angles exist and that he will use four of them.
Camera 1 (Kirk's left side), from about 2:00. Boykin steps through single frames and points to a small bright mark in the frame immediately before impact that he reads as the round in flight. He acknowledges the counter-reading directly — "you could say that's just a fly flying by, or that's just a piece of dust specking up sunlight" — and says the footage is compressed and grainy.
Camera 2 (an angle he says Alex Jones circulated), from about 4:00. Here he takes on the reading that a visible disturbance at Kirk's chest is a round striking body armour. He rejects it and offers an alternative: what moves is the microphone cable. Using his own rig on camera at around 8:00, he shows how a lapel microphone worn wrapped around the back of the neck and pinched to the cable sits nearly vertical rather than flat, and argues the cable is what catches the pressure wave and pulls the collar upward. "It's the cord, kind of catching the shockwave."
He then addresses the wound itself, and this is his central claim: "that's an exit wound, not an entry. An entry doesn't do that." He adds that the size looks wrong to him for the official calibre — "I would say it's a smaller caliber than a .30-06; a .30-06 would make much bigger hole" — floats .38, .357 and 9mm as visual comparisons, and says the report on the audio does not sound like a .30-06 to him either: "It sounds like a rifle. It doesn't sound like .30-06, sounds like something smaller, maybe 5.56." He immediately qualifies that the exact calibre is "kind of irrelevant" to his argument.
Camera 3, from about 11:30. Boykin says he initially misread a fragment flying in the frame as blood and now reads it as Kirk's earpiece, still tethered, which is why it appears to travel toward Kirk rather than away. He overlays a temporary-cavity diagram and proposes an entry near the base of the ear or the jaw, with the projectile destabilising on bone. He notes blood on the shirt as further support for an exit rather than an entrance on that side.
Camera 4, from about 15:00. He identifies the man in the white hat in this angle as Frank Turek, whose work he says he follows, and addresses the claim that a bright artefact in this angle is a reflection of the round. He rejects that geometrically: given where Camera 4 and Turek's position sit relative to Kirk, a reflection would fall elsewhere in frame.
Back to Camera 1, from about 18:00. Boykin isolates a single-frame white dot at the top left and considers whether it is a muzzle flash. He counts eight frames between that dot and the impact, works the implied distance, and finds it does not fit the geography — "either there's something off with the frame or it's just not a muzzle flash, which I'm perfectly fine with saying that it's not." He discards his own candidate rather than keeping it.
His conclusion, stated twice: "we still have basically confirmations he got shot from his right, exit out the left," with the entry near the base of the skull, and therefore, in his words, "it's quite literally not possible for the shooter to have been on the roof that they claim he is." He signs off saying he believes there was a single shooter, not two, and repeats the chalkboard line: "The FBI is lying to you. I'm Zeb Boykin."
These are Boykin's conclusions, offered from his own reading of compressed public footage. He says so himself more than once, flags where the imagery is too degraded to be certain, and abandons the muzzle-flash reading when the numbers fail. Nothing here is a forensic finding, and the site does not adopt his conclusion.
What The Footage Shows
Almost everything on screen is either Boykin in his studio or other people's video played back inside an editing timeline. The event footage he analyses is the same publicly circulated bystander video used across this investigation: Kirk seated under the white "American Comeback" tent, signs reading "PROVE ME WRONG," "TURNING POINT USA" and "YREFY.COM," Kirk in a black-lettered "FREEDOM" t-shirt holding a handheld microphone.
Two things are worth separating from the narration. First, the satellite map with its four labelled camera positions, sightlines and sound-path lines is Boykin's own reconstruction, drawn by him; he says the camera positions are "not exact, but they should be very, very close." Second, the entry and exit wound comparison graphics and the temporary-cavity diagram are generic reference images pulled up mid-video, not case material.
