What This Video Is​

One minute thirty-seven seconds, handheld, no caption overlay - optical character recognition over sampled frames returned nothing - and no account watermark. The uploader is unknown.

Of the nine copies of this detention in the archive, this is the one to watch if the question you care about is what came out of the bag. It holds on the sidewalk search for roughly forty-five continuous seconds, longer than any sibling, and it follows the officer who walks the long gun away rather than cutting past him.

The scene is a daylight street detention in the Provo/Orem area of Utah on the afternoon of September 10, 2025. Vehicles in frame are marked Provo Police.

What Is Said​

A single line from the person filming, at the moment the officer carrying the long gun crosses frame:

Do you see his gun? That's his rifle.

This cut has lost the earlier half of the narration that survives on the longer variants. What remains is the identification without the reasoning behind it, delivered as if settled.

It is not settled. The narrator is across a street, watching an object carried past at walking pace. According to the investigation's own notes on this figure, the item associated with this detention was reported to be a Ruger Yukon Magnum .177 pellet break-barrel air rifle - an air gun rather than a firearm. If that report is accurate, the word "rifle" in this clip is a bystander's reasonable mistake, and it is the mistake that every captioned repost in this section was built on top of.

What The Footage Shows​

  • 00:00 - 00:02. Close handheld: an officer guides a handcuffed man into the back of a police SUV.
  • 00:02 - 00:12. Pan right and zoom out, revealing the "provo POLICE" decal and the other officers standing by. A bicycle is parked at the left.
  • 00:12 - 00:39. Zoom to a medium shot of an officer kneeling on the sidewalk in blue nitrile gloves, working through a green reusable bag while others stand around him.
  • 00:39 - 00:50. Handheld tracking. The kneeling officer draws green tubes or canisters out of the bag. A second officer kneels beside him.
  • 00:50 - 00:58. Pan left to a white Cannondale bicycle, then right as an officer walks past carrying the long gun.
  • 00:58 - 01:17. Wide shot: multiple marked vehicles with lights running, then a slow zoom back to the sidewalk.
  • 01:17 - 01:23. Whip pan right across a parking lot where a bystander in a red t-shirt is filming the same scene.
  • 01:23 - 01:33. Pan back left to a wide view of the whole police line-up.

Detail in frame: Dodge Durango cruisers with "provo POLICE" decals and a partially legible plate; a white Cannondale mountain bike; a green reusable shopping bag; a brown paper evidence bag. The detained man is middle-aged, in a white t-shirt, dark pants and a light cap with "FOOTBALL" lettering.

The passage from 00:39 to 00:50 is the substantive one. What the officer removes from the bag reads, in this copy, as green tubes or canisters - consistent with pellet or gas cartridges, though the frames are not good enough to identify them and this page does not claim they are. Other automated passes over the same seconds in sibling files described blue clothing items, and one described handguns and magazines. Three different readings of the same frames is a warning: the resolution here does not support confident identification of anything in that bag, and no page on this site should be built on one of those readings alone.

The bicycle recurs across every variant. The investigation's notes describe the figure at the centre of this detention as biking around the area, which is what the footage supports - a man on a bike, stopped on a commercial street, with a bag.

The detained man is not named on this page and has never been publicly identified. No public evidence ties him to the shooting.
