Professor Example: The Unattributed Copy of the NPS Audio-Beam Demo

What This Video Is​

A 2 minute 20 second file held in the investigation's capture archive as Professor_Example.mp4. It carries no source URL, no poster, and no headline - which makes it the cleanest of the three copies of this recording the investigation holds, because it arrives with no claim attached to it.

The recording itself is identifiable from what is stencilled on the demonstration cart: "NPS Physics Lecture Demonstrations", the Naval Postgraduate School physics department. A door in the background reads "NO EXIT". This is a university teaching demonstration of a parametric ultrasonic loudspeaker.

The same recording is filed twice more in this cluster with claims attached - as @illuminatibot's "VOICE TO SKULL TECHNOLOGY" and as @matrixbot's "silently beamed into your head"

  • and a fourth copy is embedded on the site's Frey Effect / V2K page as a purported demonstration of CIA / DARPA Project Pandora technology. Reading this bare copy next to those three is the fastest way to see how much of the alleged content of a clip can live entirely in the caption.

What Is Said​

The lecturer speaks throughout; there is no narrator and no second voice.

He describes the ultrasonic carrier - "it's gonna blast out a 65 kilohertz beam. Because the wavelength is so small, it doesn't spread" - and compares its directionality to a laser.

He describes the modulation that makes it audible, then the non-linear acoustics that make the trick possible only at high sound pressure: "Sound plus sound can create sound, but only at high amplitude. At low amplitude, sound waves just travel right through each other."

At roughly 1:41 he states the effect that every repost seizes on: "the sound that you're going to hear is actually created in the beam, not here. And because it's created in the beam, since it stays in the beam, we have a beam of sound... it almost sounds like it's coming from your head."

The remainder is classroom material: reassurance about safety ("It won't hurt you, we don't think"), choosing a music track ("The Eagles"), the price of the unit ("It's worth the $2,000"), sweeping the beam over the room ("let me try to scan the whole audience just so everybody gets to hear this. Absolutely remarkable"), and finally bouncing it off a wall - "Raise your hand if you can very clearly hear it."

What The Footage Shows​

A university lecture hall, about fifteen to twenty students in tiered seating, a black circular acoustic transmitter disc on a metal stand, an amplifier, and a colleague seated at the demonstration desk. The lecturer explains for the first minute, starts the audio at 1:07, detaches the disc at 1:29, and from 1:34 onward the edit alternates between him aiming the disc and students reacting - a young man in a green jacket smiling in surprise, others laughing, ducking or covering their ears as the beam crosses them. The final twenty seconds are the wall-reflection demonstration.

Because this copy carries no caption, the footage is easy to read on its own terms, and on its own terms it shows something specific and limited: a commercially available directional loudspeaker, operated in the open, in a lit classroom, by a named institution's physics department, in front of an audience who can see the device pointing at them. Every element of the demonstration depends on the sound existing as a pressure wave in the air - including the reflection off the wall, which could not happen otherwise.

That is not a small finding for this cluster. It means the recording is evidence that beamed, head-localised audio is real and buyable, and it is not evidence for the separate claim that voices can be induced in a person's head at a distance with no acoustic wave present. The investigation is better served by holding those two statements apart than by letting a caption merge them.
