What This Video Is
One minute and forty seconds of fixed campus security camera footage, cut together across several feeds. It is the same material as roofshooter3.ia in this section — identical running time, identical sequence of angles — retrieved separately. Keeping both copies is deliberate: when the argument about a piece of footage is partly an argument about where the file was cut, independently obtained copies are worth holding side by side.
Neither copy carries a posting account or caption. Neither has been published to IPFS, so a still frame stands in for the player.
There is no audio. The transcription pass returned "no audio stream — nothing to transcribe." Nobody speaks over this footage and nobody narrates it; every claim made about it, on this site or anywhere else, is an interpretation of the image.
What The Footage Shows
Clear daylight over a university parking lot, lawn and roadway. Green campus banners carrying the UVU logo hang from light poles. Ordinary vehicles fill the lot — a red pickup, a white SUV, sedans. A figure in solid dark clothing sprints across the lawns; a second figure in dark uniform moves behind them. In the closing shots, ordinary pedestrians walk on the sidewalks.
The single most important thing in this retrieval is a piece of on-screen text rather than any action: a security camera timestamp visible at the top of several shots, reading dates and times around 9/10/2025 12:23:35 PM.
Shot by shot:
- 00:00 - 00:15 — Wide high-angle static view of the parking lot. Academic building, lake and mountains behind.
- 00:16 - 00:31 — Tighter high angle on the lawn beside the academic building. A dark-clothed figure crosses left to right.
- 00:32 - 00:33 — Cut back to the wide lot angle.
- 00:34 - 00:49 — Back to the lawn. A second figure in dark uniform follows the first.
- 00:50 - 00:51 — Two brief cuts, to the wide lot and then to a medium-wide angle over a different section of lot and lawn.
- 00:52 - 01:10 — Lawn view again, both figures moving downhill.
- 01:11 - 01:29 — Wide angle facing a grass slope with parked cars in the foreground; the first figure sprints down toward the lot.
- 01:30 - 01:39 — Wide angle over a campus road and intersection. The figure crosses grass and enters the roadway near other pedestrians.
The same two cautions apply here as to the archive copy. A camera at this distance does not resolve a face, and it does not establish that the uniformed figure is chasing this particular person rather than responding to the general emergency. Neither figure is named by this footage, and neither is named here.
How It Connects
That burned-in 12:23:35 is the reason this clip is filed with the roof and runner material rather than with general campus footage. The investigation file places the shot at 12:23:30 p.m. Surveillance stills circulated by independent researchers carry timestamps of 12:23:29, 12:23:34, 12:23:45 and 12:23:54, tracing movement toward the northeast corner of the Losee Center building — a span researchers have summarised as covering the distance from the claimed firing position to that corner in roughly twenty-five seconds.
Those same researchers have argued that the publicly released rooftop view begins at 12:23:34, by which time the runner was already about sixty feet clear of the claimed perch, and that measuring the visible run backwards puts the start of the sprint at roughly 12:23:28 — before the shot. On that reading the person filmed running could not have fired it. That is an argument advanced by citizen investigators working from partial releases, not a finding of any court, and it turns entirely on footage that has not been made public in full. Investigation notes also record sharp public criticism of the Utah County District Attorney's office and of UVU for the extent of what has been withheld; those are allegations by the critics, and the offices concerned have not conceded them.
