He appears here because he is the on-record official who publicly cleared George Zinn — one of the documented distraction figures — as the shooter the same day, and whose announcements connected the early Zinn arrest to the official Tyler Robinson narrative.

- New appointee weeks before assassination — timing noted in CK Google Trends threads (Washington DC searches around July 16, 2025)
- Named on a CK "officials who knew" list arguing at least a dozen officials — including the DPS commissioner — never acknowledged that Tyler Robinson was reportedly in custody ~3.5 hours before the official arrest time and ~90 minutes before the alleged Discord messages posted. This is a commentator's timeline argument, not a proven claim against Mason personally.
