Technology & Surveillance
Overview
This section collects technical and surveillance claims around the September 10, 2025 killing of Charlie Kirk at UVU: drones and UAS footage, camera systems (campus, TPUSA event, municipal Flock), digital forensics (phones, Discord, SD cards), and contested "exotic weapon" theories (IR laser designation, mic-as-device). Official proceedings emphasize a rooftop rifle narrative; citizen investigators document competing technical models. Neither side is rubber-stamped here.
Key Areas
- Drone / UAS sightings and foreign-system analogies (Drones)
- Aircraft and ISR-adjacent flight context (Planes, N1098L)
- Campus and event camera chains; Flock / ALPR coverage gaps
- Digital forensics: Discord, phones, search history, wiped servers (as alleged)
- Contested tech theories: IR designators, loitering munitions analogies, mic explosive claims
Citizen Investigator Claims on X
(Unverified technical claims from public commentary — not court findings.)
- Drone-strike model: @ProjectConstitu and associated long-form videos argue the hit was a foreign drone / laser-designated engagement (Spike Firefly / Hero-class analogies, "Cold Sword"-style networked sniper demos, alleged IR paint visible on enhanced phone video). Some threads name an unidentified TPUSA-adjacent spotter. These are high-speculation OSINT narratives with no court adoption.
- Multi-drone / dual-weapon packages: Later Project Constitution / @WeAreNotGTM commentary claimed multiple military-style drones, dual wounds (distance + close), and camera dead zones built into a "killbox." Treat as attributed theory, and cross-check against ballistics pages.
- Flock / municipal cameras: @realstewpeters (July 2026) asked why a dense Flock camera environment around Provo/Orem produced, in the public case narrative, mainly grainy stills and few plate hits. That is a records-demand question, not proof of spoliation by itself.
- Event-camera seizure timing: Separate but related tech-chain claims (see Social Media Analysis) allege SD cards pulled within minutes by event AV staff — a chain-of-custody issue that belongs in both tech and legal tracks.
- Mic / RF theories: Recurring posts claim a modified wireless microphone or body-adjacent device, not a .30-06, caused the fatal injury. See Cover-Up — Mic Explosive. Official autopsy/ballistics commentary rejects that model; the dispute remains a live citizen topic.
How to Read Competing Models
| Model | Primary claimed sensor / tool | What would falsify it |
|---|---|---|
| Lone rooftop rifle | Mauser .30-06, rooftop pads, DNA/prints | Independent ballistics + multi-angle video contradicting roof origin |
| Drone / guided slug | UAS footage, IR designator frames | Authenticated flight logs empty + continuous camera coverage of sky clear |
| Mic / close device | Wound geometry, mic removal video | Medical examiner primary records showing classic rifle wound path |
| Hybrid / multi-actor | Dead zones + multiple origins | Full synchronized multi-cam release with continuous custody |

Laws (Charlie Kirk)
- Electronic signal-jamming records at UVU and NSA XKeyscore queries on the people and phones and drone flight logs with their feed recipients are things that the Charlie Kirk Investigation Laws may result in powerful truths coming out that aren't out yet.
